Looking Out

Looking Out
6x6 oil on masonite

As I painted this piece today I realized it made me think of the oil spill again {sigh}. It's as if these friends are looking out waiting to see what will become of our waters. Ugh.. twice as big, twice as bad – really?! Will we ever look at our waters the same way? What will come of this nightmare will it ever be right again? God... the environment, all the marine life, all the fragile species please make this nightmare stop. We need to stop this disaster, I have hope we will – that's all I have. Prayers and Hope.

  2. Yeah, I am with you on the spill. Can't even watch the news at this point because it makes me so sad. I am praying that many positive things come out of the oil spill - like regulation and awareness. And I pray that it can be stopped and cleaned up as soon as possible.

This is a beautiful piece - I love the ocean and love looking out at it. This piece gives me a sense of calm and wonder. The ocean is such an impressive thing to take in and can be really meditative to look at.

You cross your fingers and I will cross mine about the spill!

  3. I love your painting but momma the sentiment pings my heart. I can't imagine what the impact is going to be once its over - it's so devastating now! I wish we'd start putting older souls in positions of power, people who can bring intellect, heart and foresight to the decision making process. Those decisions have mega impact on our earth - impacts the Globe and has massive consequences for a multitude of species - HUMANS being one of them. It yields me feeling extremely powerless and the ignorance inspires anger. I hope we learn from this and agree with Kristen - please.please.please.please. let something big huge and positive come out of this! Let it be now. let it be contained and over.
